Elias and Yara share a room at the “Sharm el-Sheikh Resort”. They live together, yet never see each other: he works as a daytime excursion manager, she as a night receptionist.

And yet, something extraordinary begins. Through notes left on each other’s pillows, they start to get to know one another.
What begins with a simple question from Elias, asking her to leave a sock lying around as a sign of life, and her reply requesting white milk chocolate, slowly grows into an intimate connection on paper.

A schedule change suddenly gives their shifts a thirty-minute overlap each day. For the first time, they are face to face and confronted with their feelings.

The thirty minutes soon prove not enough. They spend hours talking to each other via the landline at reception.

Until guest relations manager, Farida, finds out. Elias is immediately fired and forced to pay the astronomical phone bill himself, to the head office in Cairo.

How will he ever manage it? All the money he’s been saving to pursue his dream of becoming a film director will be gone.
And more importantly: what about Yara, the love of his life, whom he had to leave without saying goodbye?
